Suspected low oil pressure

Hi all,
been a while since my last visit.
Over winter i have carried out a lot of work to re tidy what was allways a great Avon ( thanks pat).

One of the improvements i have made was to swap out the cam that was in the pinto that we fitted must be two years ago now with a piper 285 cam and vernier.
That stage of the tune went well, no problems.
Now when we came to re-balance the carbs last weekend we noticed that at tickover (1000 rpm) the engine now only seems to be creating 20psi of oil pressure, as read by the guage on the dash. by 2000 rpm the pressure goes up to 40psi ish.
The thing is before the rebuild normally at tickover it would be putting around 40-50 psi and going to 90 psi driving around.

Im just waiting for a pressure tester to see if the guage or sensor has gone faulty but just thought the combined brain of the builders could come up with some good thoughts.

Thanks for looking,

Ben
