hmmm, laptop...

are you using a proper old skool serial port, or one of the usb to serial converters? they have incompatability issues.

other than that, i don't know. sorry

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

If you are using a serial port, are you using the correct serial (RS232) lead?
It's a while since I did all this but IIRC it has to be a serial extension lead, other types, like null modem etc. won't work.

I had to put a reversal in my lead to connect.

As you have loaded the files its sounds like you have good comms anyway.

That aside I could not communicate with mine initially using the megatune package, then loaded megatunix and could now see the ECU.

Once I had proven with megatunix megatune started to work... This is not uncommon if you have a google.

yes must have coms as i managed to load the s19 file but i am using a usb adapter to my laptop.will look into the other tuning software you mentioned.
The instructions get a bit complicated with needing this file and that file etc, better off they supplied a cd with updated online ..

The s19 file is the firmware which is normally preloaded on the processor .Are you sure you needed to load that file ?
