Volvo/ST 2.5 Duratec lump...
Hi all,
im after some information and was wondering whether anyone knows which gearbox and belhousing would attach to the Focus ST/ Volvo 2.5 lump in order to
put it into a RWD car...
Has this been done and has it worked???
Any information would be greatly appreciated

Hi
Welcome to the madhouse
Im pretty sure it has been done before (a quick search should confirm that).
You can get adaptor plates for type 9 boxs to fit most engines and im sure i have seen one for a volvo engine (not sure which one though
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Hi ,
The V6 type9 fits but will not last long.
The Jaguar S type box goes on but you will need a new custom bellhousing.
A cosworth T5, but you will need to mill up an adapter plate.

New Mazda MX5 has a 6 speed attached to the duratec in it. Will that not do the trick?
Follow bilbo's option and use the original FWD bellhousing with an adapter plate between the housing and box.

I'm following Bill's lead attaching a Toyota box to my newly acquired turbo engine
