IT RUNS!....But noisy top end?!?

Wow, that was amazing!....First attempt after a little delay to wait for the fuel pump to prime

Sounds SWEET!

However, the top end sounds a bit "clicky"...

Is this normal on a ZX9R 'C' Engine?

I can appreciate that because the engine is rigidly mounted any slight noise will be heard a lot louder than it actually is, ....But should I be able to hear the engine top end rattling/clicking at idle?

Have you blocked of the emmisions valves on top of the rocker cover? they make a terrible din. i just joined them together with a piece of rubber pipe.

You've checked the valve clearances presumably?
