old engine?!

i know, i better have the engine redone... but i need to know ...got a car engine sitting outside with intake off and no hole covered...all winter and still sitting there.

is it possible to have it running ...at least for a while until i get the proper engine ready??? any opinion ??

oh! honda D serie engine....(aluminum block)

By proper engine i mean a K serie...

any help or comment greatly appreciated...

fill the cylinders with a little oil and fire it up. Nothing to lose IMHO if it runs great, if not you were going to fit something else anyway.

if it all seems ok and nothing seized then it might be worth a shot - you never know.....

mine started first turn of the key after the car had sat in a field for 5+ years, all it needed was a battery and that was on the old unleaded that was left in the tank
but then mine is a pinto
