Propshaft

Should there be locking nuts,locking washers or tabs or something on the propshaft flange bolts?Mine were loose

If your bolts go straight into the flange then use locktight and a split washer...

If your bolt goes through the flange use locktight and a nylock on the other side....With some washers of course!

Originally mine had bolts with a special coating (from Ford). Looks like blue paint when you undo them.

I used a Loctite locking compound when I replaced the bolts (the sort of compound that can be undone with a bit of effort).

Ford still sell the proper bolts for the sierra, they are about £1.30 each I could look fot the pt. no. if you need it.

hmm loctite damages most plastics, i think that applies to nylon used in nlyloc nuts too, so using both together might be counter productive

yea just use loctite

And tighten them properly - they're usually at a fairly high torque setting, which can be hard to achieve on something that's designed to rotate!
