Duratec RWD Gearboxes?
Just to follow on from the thread about Zetec SE engines - in Classic Ford this month they suggest that an MX5 gearbox bolts straight up to a 4 pot
Duratec........ I didn't think it did even though they are both essentially Mazda products - was/am I wrong?

Seems likely,

Its a defo, as the article said get a 5 speed, nice and light.
The Duratec is essentially a Mazda engine and they have them installed in the newer cars.
The 5 speed boxes go back to the first gen car in 1989.
