Megajolt question??

Hi, Just putting my ignition loom together, and thought I'd check before going the diode route.

Has anyone successfully used the megajolt tach output to drive a late 60's early 70's Smiths tach? not the loop round conductor type, the type which takes the flyback current from the switched side of the coil.
Cheers.
Pete.

I've had a Smiths Triumph spitfire rev counter working.. from what I remember I just put in in parallel with either the pip or saw wire as that is giving the high voltage kick required to the coil pack that can also drive the rec-counter.
