Airbox (with a difference)
Ok, I'm looking for some suggestions as to a suitable air filter/airbox for my BEC. Now for the "with a difference" bit - it is a V
twin so has two (quite large!) throttle bodies that are pretty much vertical and close together.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

It's only a stopgap until the first RSV4s are released and stuffed next year. Then I shall be getting me one of those!!
I have got a photo but it is without the throttle bodies fitted which isn't that helpful!

Mille - not a proper bike engine????
LOL
They have a better torque spread than an R1, and ok less power but they still make 135hp at the wheel on the bike, whatever that is at the engine, and
rev freely to 11,000 which isn't too shoddy for a twin!!...... (talking 2004 on engines here like the two I'm using)
Re. the airbox, I'm using plain old K&N's (I think they are for weber 55 dcoe's or something) directly on top of the throttle
bodies, with ram pipes inside.
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
retro car restoration and tuning

Thanks for the support Nat! That's all we need, a divide in the BEC camp. Mine is the older one but I have the good fortune of knowing someone
who races and tunes them as well as selling them for a living. There are lots of performance parts that have been developed and then banned in certain
formulae. As a result it is now cammed and has even bigger throttle bodies (I think they are now 57mm!)
Anyway, I already sort of have a V4. It's just that 2 cylinders are in the car and the other2 are in the shed. You really can get 2 for the
price of an R1 so I'm buying them all so it can stay as Nat's, Pathfinder's and my special club!

Like I said, there's one in my shed (well, it's more of a kit but it's all there!). I believe you like a challenge?

hehehe - well i recon it might be too tall as the Tiger B6 sits an inch or two lower than the MK Indy etc, and with the shape of the bonnet, its not
such a simple job to add a scoop to clear the filter / airbox. I think it will be pretty tight even with the ZX10R with AB Performance sump to gain
clearance. Never know though - will have to look at your engine when i pop up.

pathfinder fitted his under lowline bodywork.
PS take a look at Froggy (on here) and his latest developments!!
Since winning the PPC £999 challenge with his TL1000 V twin powered kitten van he's now twin engined that and adding nitrous for both engines!!

id try and adapt the stock airbox as twins are usually designed with pulse damping biult in to the airbox,my tl has vac operated dapmer valve built in
which i am trying to keep as it makes part load running a lot smoother and the efi maps take the damping effect into account so you could have some
part load afr niggles if you ditch the box

there is a cec package like that for under a grand
