I seem to remember a post on here a few montha ago, someone had found one of the DIY chains TV Aerial masts was 32mm OD ally tube, can anyone remember which store's product it was?

Cheers.
Pete.

Or, Purchase a 30ft plus teliscopic amateur radio aerial the kind of thing used with CBs and you get 6 or more 5 foot lengths in decreasing tube sizes, I used to work somewhere that had a couple of CB radio masts take casualty to high winds still haven't got through the tubes, nice ally too and they are suprisingly cheap.

There's two sizes to be had in B&Q, one is the aerial mast and there's another size for a washing line pole. Not sure of the sizes but check them both out

A 32mm tube search on ebay will bring you plenty of choice on the vac extensions, pretty reasonable prices too in stainless/chrome or plastic.

What's the weight difference between aluminium aerial pole and stainless vac extensions?

I'd avoid anything chrome plated like the plague as it's probably very thin mild steel and is unlikely to last very long at all.

Lots of older vac extensions are 32mm aluminium rather than stainless, some come with nice ready swaged ends too......

As iank says most of the chrome plated ones are poo tin steel.

That site doesnt say how long them pipes are?

I know bnq do the 32mm aly poles cos iv got a 6 ft one on me chimney. I was annoyed when i realised its size when i bought it cos i paid alot more for ally tube when i did my cooling system.

Stainless stuff is a bit heavy. Ally ariel masts are polished and weigh nothing really.

Yes, I know it's not much but it all adds up!
