Type 9 to 4AGE Conversion
Now that i have given up on getting a T50 i am looking into the Ford type 9 conversion. Does anyone know if the modification to the bellhousing is
DIYable?
Is it a spacer plate, or is there material machined off the bellhousing?
Also, where is the cheapest place to buy the modified bellhousing? cheapest price i have seen is £175 (cant remember where i seen it though!)

yeah the cheapest place is the 175 plus 25 for some other parts, from RAW Engineering
I guess the only way to really contemplate a bodge............. er................ diy job is to get the 4age and the t9 and attack it with a mig,
grinder and some 5mm plate untill it fits

What other parts are required for the £25 that you talk about.
Also, i have sent you a U2U message.
Do you have your bellhousing yet? if so, does it look DIYable/bodgeable?

well i think they mention its the bolt set for the bell housing. Its a lot of money but it is alloy and would reduce weight by a few a kilos.

Hi,I found my T50 on the net,but there are still a few in rally circles as a lot of people put 4age's into escorts for rallying.
Try the Motoring News adverts section.
T50 ratios are a lot better than type9 ,unless you fork out £750 for a close ratio gear set.
Once I've finished a project why do I start another?

Hi All.
If you really want a T50 box in the UK try AE86 spares. I think they are in South Wales, the chap is called Peter, phone no. is 01654 703180.
However, when I tried last year he had had sold all his T50 casings to Quaife, but still had T50 bellhousings.
Hope this helps.
Regards. Ken.
