I believe you want March 1989 onwards which is 'F' reg. That's when the EFI '205' type engine came in. I don't think there was a non-'205' EFI engine other than twin cam. (But feel free to correct me if you know otherwise).
This engine was used for awhile before pretty much everything got the twin cam engine. (Although they do seem to have run in parallel for awhile- maybe different factories had different technology?).

Are you plannning on keeping the engine or changing to bike or something after SVA?
Bear in mind the EFI will give you issues with the plenum chamber coming through the bonnet. If you're planning on not keeping this engine and aren't gonna have the EFI then I'd recommend getting an older 'carb' model as it's less hassle.
If you are sticking with the Pinto long term then the '205' is *slightly* more tuneable so with a choice of the two worth going for I guess. You can still fit carbs to it but you'll need to get a new inlet manifold aswell as the carbs.

Mine came from a 2.0i GLS (with type9) kindly supplied by Mr Conrod himself.

HTH,

James

Just taking the engine and box from an E reg Granada Ghia and thats a 205 block 2.0 L injected Pinto and type 9 box, maybe this combo was on the Granny before the Sierra?

cheers

Chris

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

I’m going with a Indy chassis and have now been told that they just put standard engine holes in place and the engine choice is down to you and all you need to do is fabricate the correct brackets and that a Vx engine does fit in and work well!

If this is the case I will put the Vx 2.0i 8v engine in just as long as i don’t need to modify the chassis. If all I need to do is fabricate brackets no problem!

Anynone know anything about this?

Ahhhm, interesting, I thought all the Granny 2.0s were Twin Cam.
Oh well, we live and learn!

Cheers,
