DOHC Pinto question
Hello,
I'm not really sure if this should go in the "Chassis Section" or here, but anyway...
I am interested in getting my hands on a DOHC Pinto engine, but i understand that there could be a problem getting it into a book chassis, is this the
case?
If so, by how much do I need to increase the height of the engine bay?
Thanks, in advance, for your help.

When you say DOHC Pinto do you mean a Cossie engine or the unit fitted to later standard Sierras which is not a Pinto? If it is the later I would do a
check on past listings for views on the engine compared to SOHC Pinto.

It's coming off a Sierra 2000E (H-reg, i think).
So i guess it is the latter of the two options you suggested

The thing only just fits in a Sierra! The remote water pump one side and the alternator the other, its about 3' wide
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Can't be as wide as a vee engine surely? I think the RV8 is around 50cm wide excluding exhausts and alternator (which gets moved anyhoo).

depends on the Vee - my cologne isnt all that wide low down - its only at the top, where the heas stick out thats there is any width, and thats where
the bonnet is widest. Admittedly, I have to move the power steering and alternator to engine top.....
