Removing Avon Diff?
Does anyone know if it is possible to take out the two bolts holding the Diff in an Avon (and obviously the prop bolts) and then drop it out of the
bottom?
It has push in drive shafts so I didn't know if when it dropped down they would come out and save me taking the wheels, brake back plates etc
off?
Any one done this?

You will need to remove the drive shafts first, the brake back plates can stay put (loose). remove the drum to gain access to the four drive shaft
bearing carrier bolts and pull shafts out then drop the diff.

Yeah, thanks for the reply, that was the conclusion I was coming too 
I only have a single garage so it's not easy to take them out as it's not wide enough which means I have to wait for good weather to do it
on the drive!
Do you reckon you could get away with removing one drive shaft and then being able to take the other out when you are removing the diff? That sounds
doable!!

Why not just disconnect the top or bottom wishbone at the hub you the may have enough movement to pull the driveshaft out of the diff, granted you
will probably have to remove the brake flex and handbrake cables but I think those will have to come off anyway

I manage to totally rebuild my car in a single garage with no elecrticity so just dropping the diff shouldn't be any problem!!

I have a one and four year old at limited time. I built a Super 6 in there but having just changed to duratec I have used all my time and money
brownie points. I need to do this quickly and simply  )
