Bleeding a Mondeo Single Pipe Clutch Slave Cyl.

The earlier concentric clutch slave cylinders used on Mondeos with an MTX75 gearbox and Zetec engine have a fluid feed pipe coming from the master cylinder and a stub pipe with a nipple on the end for bleeding.
I have bought a replacement slave cylinder, which is of mainly plastic contruction, for later cars which fits the gearbox OK but does not have a bleed point.
Does anyone know how to bleed this later type of single pipe slave cylinder please?

The application is a type 9 gearbox coupled to an MGB engine via a Mondeo 'bellhousing' which is going into a 1956 MG ZA Magnette saloon.

Cheers,

Mal

has it got 2 clips holding the pipe in? you pull the pipe half way out as if you were undoing the nipple and it releases the pressure/air sometimes have to pressure bleed them tho

It has wire clips in 2 placess: where the flexi-pipe enters and where the body decends into the bell housing.

That was the only way I could see of doing the job, but it seems very crude and likely to leave air within the piston area.

probably a result of manufactures not wanting peeps to do their own repairs,at the factory the system is evacuated and fluid just pours into the vacuum

They use the same set up on the mg Z range. Get your self a proper slave. Some guys have bled them submerged in brake fluid but its a messy faf.

I use a Corsa slave cylinder in mine - again , no bleed nipple
What I do is connect the system with just the gearbox in place , then simply pump the slave cylinder a few times by hand , and it sucks the fluid from the master cylinder . I have also fitted a bleed nipple where the flexi pipe joins to rigid pipe to the master cylinder , at the highest point .

Its cuz I is blond , innit
