cosworth powerd locost

im considering fitting a cosworth yb engine in to my Haynes locost just wondering if there's anything i need to change or move about to make it fit and will the turbo be in the way? basically i was just wondering how much harder it will be than fitting a regular pinto engine.can i fit it to a type 9 and use a English axle with a lsd or will it just be to much for the axle

cheers for any help

Most cissies lumps run t5 boxes so they mount different also on my roadster the turbo would foul the steering shaft

Awesome Vid. Would be a lot easier to drive and quicker if it was a 300odd bhp N/A motor though

Lack of a torque spike and linear power, it'd help the rear end breaking traction, all IMO of course

I say go for it

its been done before (Hicost for one, though his car is a wee bit wider than standard )
and there are plenty of westies / dax's running a cossie YB too

using the cossie T5 gearbox and a sierra rear axle (with either a de dion or IRS rear) will make it mush stonger and the gearbox goes strait onto the cossie (pinto's with type 9's use smaller flywheels and the box is no where near as strong)
