Zetec oil pressure when warm?

Morning all, now I have my zetec up and running, the paranoia is setting in! Oil pressure is a good 4.5-5 bar when cold, but drops to 1 bar when warm - is this right?

It took a while to get the engine started for the first time (not the engine's fault), and I wonder if all the fuel the injectors fired got washed down the bores into the sump, and has thinned he oil, or am. I just panicking?

I'm using 5w30 oil, VDO gauge, and a VDO combined sender and oil pressure switch.

The low oil pressure warning light extinguishes as soon as the engine fires, and has never flickered or come on at idle.

Your thoughts please?

Cheers

Yeh mine does that too, never bothered me but mines about 1.5 bar when hot, only goes below that when the oils low.For sake of an oil change I'd do and put in the best oil you can afford and a filter.

Cheers

Rich

That sound ok, mines 2 bar/30 psi at 80deg and 1 bar/15psi at 100deg, as long as it rises with revs then your ok.

ATB Dan.

The less I worked, the more i liked it.
