anyone 100% sure how an anti cav oil tank works?

my caterham has what is described as an anti cav oil tank setup which is supposed to cure oil surge for track use etc. anyone know how these acually work? it has an oil tank similar to a dry sump tank!

So it doesn't have a dry sump setup but does have a separate oil tank.
Similar to a fuel surge tank or swirl pot?
Oil pump feed from the tank but I can't see how to do it without a second low pressure pump from the sump.
Does your engine have an external oil pump, I know the Crossflow can use an oil pump with external connections

IMHO it would not have any dry sumping benefits and anti-cavitation, by its name is only to take air bubbles out of the oil.
No bad thing, in theory, but entirely necessary?
Makes for expensive oil changing I guess, how big is the tank?
