Can it be this simple?
Having read all the posts to get help on fitting an Escort rad to my Pinto I was talking to a very experienced motor engineer who offered the
following advice.
Top hose to thermostat ,small outlet blanked off.
Bottom hose to water pump, outlet to manifold.
Pressure cap on radiator
Overflow pipe from radiator neck to bottle on bottom rail, with small amount of coolant covering end of overflow pipe which finishes near bottom of
bottle.
This sounds very simple, has anyone else used this system and does it work OK?
Regards
David

That's how mine works.
It's never overheated yet. Only drawback is you have to remove the nosecone to top up. put a small breather hole in the top of your expansion
bottle if it's airtight as it swells when the hot water goes in and sucks flat and splits when it draws back. My original suffered this fate and
the new one is a wash liquid bottle with the pipe pushed through the drilled lid.

yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
