bike carb's direct(ish) to head ?

I'm just thinking about future upgrades (nothing else to do and I'm stuck here )

I've got a set of ZX9R E carb's on a nice bogg bros manifold but as nice as the manifold is there is a bit of a 'step' where the rubbers join it on

so I was wondering about using the bike's std. rubbers as the ZX9R E ones look quite neat:

and I think quite a few other bikes have similar head to carb rubbers

I'd don't think it would make a big enough gain to be worth it on my current head, but if I port it or swap for a cossie head.....

obviously I'd need to make a different manifold, probably just an adapter plate really
also I might have to re-space the carbs

what do you lot recon ?

Is the spacing between the carbs that same as the head?
