Direct to head throttle bodies or manifolded iTB's
evening all,
I know little on the following subject so i open the topic up to the forum.
What are the pro's and cons of each of the following set ups?
1) Direct to head throttle bodies
2) manifolded throttle bodies
I currently run a weber manifold on a set of jenveys where the manifold has been matched the head etc

It's supposed to vary where best torque is achieved, that's why Toyota designed variable intake manifolds years ago.
If I remember correctly, longer gives you better torque lower down.
For emissions they like to squirt close to the head, you can drive on leaner mixtures, I,m sure someone will have greater knowledge on the subject.

You often hear the DTH as being described as compact, but then find they need massive trumpets to keep the torque up, so :-S
I guess the spacing will be bang on so you get marginal gains, and the injectors closer to the cylinder so better cold running and better throttle
response.

I run direct to head, the more compact less joins so less likely to be another area for a leak
Downside they only fit that head so resale can be harder and they are more compact normally meaning higher peak power less torque lower down
