Type 9 saddle location

I guess I could measure but thought I am sure someone will know... I have one of gearbox extensions that rally design / Westfield do.. Question is do you use a saddle in the gearbox as well as the extension or move the one from the gearbox to the extension?

How does the extension attach to the gear selector shaft? I doubt you would get a saddle on as well as the extension if its anything like the extension on my car

I just got one of those type 9 extensions from Rally Design. I found that it wouldn't fit with the saddle on the gearbox and the gear lever needed it on the extension or else there was slack. So the answer was to change it from the gearbox to the extension. The problem I found was that you have to remove the rear cover and I'm not sure whether to leave it like that or modify it to fit.
