Electric Water Pump
Have been told some Clio's run electric water pumps. But which ones?
How would I fit this to a A Series engine?

I think the Renault 19 16valve engine used an electric water pump, not sure if it was the only pump in the cooling system or just controled by a
thermostatic switch? perhaps the clio 16valve uses the same system?? hope this helps . Rusty

I can highly recommend these electric water pumps.
In the days before these pumps were available, I used electric shower pumps as used in boats and caravans etc. They are compact and will handle the
water temperatures too.
Cheers, Rorty.

We run those pumps (Davies Craig) on the LMP - never had an issue.
The Prodrive Ferrari squad also ran 2 of them on each of their 550 Maranello's during their assault on the 2003/2004 LMES, GT class.
Thoroughly recommended.

Steve,
Any idea of ballpark figure for the price of one of these pumps?
(Fitting a blacktop zetec into my Fury and not looking forward to fabbing a mount up just to allow the water pump to rotate in the right direction)

Don't worry - found them on thinkauto.
£200+VAT including controller....hmmm....think it'll be a fabrication job then!

We got ours from Think Auto.
Although it's expensive, the way I see it, by using one of these pumps you're investing in the longevity and reliability of the engine in
an application is wasn't designed for, and so far we've had no issues.
You'll also improve power and fuel economy...

Steve.

True but I'm trying to do the zetec conversion on a budget
Definitely on my list of upgrades, though.
