Nope 9 -29 Bhp
lets see who can do the most trival of 2cv facts (note facts). I'm sure we have a 2cv nerd on here somewhere.
I'll go first
the early cars (1948) had an oval ornament on the front that was removed in 54.

Michelin had been forming an idea for a ‘people’s car’ for some years, and its takeover of Citroën led to the Very Small Car that became known as the
2CV. Development had been stalled by World War II before the 2CV made headlines at the 1948 Paris motor show. Famously designed to cross a field
without breaking any eggs on board so it could cope with typically poor French roads – while also being cheap to run and repair – the 2CV would
surpass five million units in car and van guises in a production run lasting from 1949 until 1990. It even gained a starring role in the 1981 James
Bond movie For Your Eyes Only.

I'm not what you can call a "2CV geek", but being French, I can clear up the "2CV" name mystery!
2CV stands for "2 chevaux", but "chevaux fiscaux" not "chevaux DIN". I translate : we are here talking about a tax
unit, not a power unit. In France, taxes on vehicles are calculated according to their "puissance fiscale", which literally means
"taxing power" The unit is the "horse", but not the "horse-power", no, it is literally the
"horse-tax".
Both "horses" are of course proportional : the more powerful/luxurious the car, the higher the "taxing power" in
"CV".
So, the 2CV was among the less taxed car. For example, my Peugeot Partner HDI is 6 CV, and a 2017 Porsche 911 V (991) 4.0 500HP R, is 42 CV!!!
I think cars with only "2CV" of taxation no longer exist, and if I'm not mistaken, the smallest cars are now 4cv minimum. Although,
very quickly in its history, the 2CV was actually in the "3CV" taxation category.

Similar tax system was used here, £1 per horse power, but it was calculated on a formula based on bore size, not capacity or actual power output, so
lots of very long stroke engines were made as a result. The Austin 7 was actually about 12 HP.
