Should Imagine a "superchip" to up the boost pressure on the turbo or whatever else they do.
I know they do them for renault vans bout £300 I think and claim some quite high gains in power

Be careful with the power gains quoted with superchips, often they'll remap the engine to give a boost in peak power to the detriment to the
torque spread through the rest of the rev range. If possible get a torque/power curve for the chip and the bog standard engine so you can compare
them.

superchips are said to open up the ECU and solder on a new chip. I don't know 100% that this is true. From an electronics / warranty point of
view, this is bad. Find a company that will do a software upgrade. This is probably better.

I've got one fitted to an A4 TDi and could easily get the claimed results. I did dyno it too!
Stick to fuel only chips and you shouldn't have any issues. Modern PD diesels are already fairly well tuned at the factory and so tend to gain
less.
However the ultimate upgrade is a fuel chip and propane injection. Which basically increases the diesel burn from 75% to 90% which gains power and
lowers sooty emmisions.

Fit a bigger intercooler and up the boost a few psi then tweak the fuel to compensate.
Did it to my 200Tdi Landy using a Jeremy Fearn intercooler and gained (alledgedly) 25% more torque.
Didn't do major amounts for top end but the midrange is superb as is the improvement in towing.
A hill in Wales (Rhuallt Hill) used to be a 4th gear job towing my 15ft speedboat loaded with
camping gear and four people in the car. Now 5th gear and doesn't drop below 50 !

I heard that the 'superchip' is just a resistor that tricks the ECU into thinking it has more air goin in than it actually does or
something along those lines

The 75PS engine doesn't have an inter cooler. Other than that, as far as I am aware, it is identical to the 100PS version. A simple way to get
an extra 25PS would be to fit an intercooler and hoses, then talk to some nice person at Ford and ask them to flash the 100PS cal onto the PCM!
