air filter

does the height of the air firlter have any effect to the car

if it's high, it'll stick through the bonnet.

it makes it look like you have a filter sticking through your bonnet

probably not what you were really asking

well i reasoned that people will go to an awful lot of trouble to get cold air feeds to their air filters, so since it was a K&N going onto a sierra carb, instead of leaving it half through the bonnet, thought i'd use some mdf and cork gasket to lift it clean out of the bonnet, so giving it clear and unrestricted access to flies (as i found on my way to newark) oh, and cold air too.

therefore, in my scenario, the higher the better, until the bottom plate hit the bonnet line, as then the spacing material becomes visible and unsightly.

if it's inside the bonnet, i'd tend to think anywhere away from something hot, and not at the very top.

anyway, congratulations on asking the least specific question in locostbuilders history, with no real attempt at clarification second time round

lol thank your for your help did actualy help i think and thank your for the adward i would have been more helpful had i listened to my dad before he left who had asked me to put the question on as he is planing on getting it tomorrow (i hope)
