Zetec vs Type 9

Can anyone help me, I am having probems connecting my type 9 gearbox to a 1800 Zetec R. Not all the holes line up and i have got big gaps in some places. Do i need new bell housing or can i modify what i got to make it fit.

Cheers

What car is thegearbox from? If it is a V6 (eg XR4i) it will need a different bellhousing.

I think that the Zetec has the same bellhousing pattern as the zetec, etc so a 4pot box should be fine.

The gearbox came out of a sierra.
Where can i get hold of a new bellhousing that will fit?

So long as all the bellhousing bolts on the block line up, don't worry about it. The sump-bellhousing bolts aren't strictly necessary

I've a Type 9 connected to a zetec in this manner
