heater plumbing

where do you plumb the heater to? Obviously the feed to the heater goes from after the thermostat but where does the return go?
If the heater fan is switched off, the returned water from the heater will still be hot but it can't go to the top of the radiator because there'll be no flow.

As bike engines don't have provision for a heater I guess, if it was me, I would simply plumb the heater in parallel with the main radiator.

It may take a while to warm up (you will have to wait for the thermostat to open before you get any heat) but at least the engine will warm up quickly.

Edited to add; whereabouts are you in Birmingham? Close enough to attend one of these meetings?

Quinton. Close enough to Studley and the likes. I might pop in on the next one. I don't think my normal car will keep up on your runs though

Is there a thermostat bypass pipe as on some car engines...break into that for best results. Only an idea.
