Ecotec/XE 2lt
im using a daewoo d-tec engine, which i think is identical to the ecotec.
Could the people in the know regarding vx engines answer some questions for me.
I'm pretty sure they all have the same block, at least my manta 1.8 gbox seems to line up
Is the flywheel on the xe and/or ecotec 6 or 4 bolted?
Is the alternator crank pulley on the xe and/or ecotec 6 or 4 bolted? I think mines bent.
are there any other differences whhich people may know about. how much do the d-tec and ecotec have in common
Many thanks

XE = 8 bolt flywheel 6 bolt front pulley, both with vernier bolt patterns so only fit in one orientation.
Ecotec = 6 bolt flywheel (same as 8 valve ohc vauxhall, flywheel "might" fit ) and I think 6 bolt front pulley but not sure.
Blocks are generically the same but with variations!!! clear as mud!
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
