1.8 fly wheel on 2lt zetec

what clutch do i use for type 9 box

a standard 1.8 zetec clutch or 2.0 Pinto clutch should fit as the splines are the same. I used this exact set up recently and fitted the Pinto clutch. Just make sure you use a 1.8 pressure plate from a 130bhp 1.8 zetec engine. I didn`t and buggered my clutch after 100 miles on a rolling road session.

On the 1.8 set up I used a Pinto release bearing. I`m not convinced this was doing its job properly though? The clutch bite was right on full pedal depression. I`ve since spoken to Westfield and they appear to machine a spacer when fitting zetec engines. Maybe someone with a Westy and a Zetec can clarify this? I`ve now swapped to a standard 2.0 flywheel set up but with a Ford transit release bearing. It feels much better.

spoke to a bloke that said you have to cut the clutch arm. bend it and reweld it so that the clutch bites in right place
