zetec coolant temperature sensor
having probs with 2ltr Zetec temprature dial reading - i have bypassed the fan thermo switch and wired the fan to a switch. if i let the engien temp
build up then activate the fan for say 10 seconds the temp drops rapidly but is very very slow to rise again if at all on the temp dial. any ideas?

Drop topic in google "zetec overcooling" common problem as the piping needs to be carefully connected.

dont think its the pipeing as has been running fine unless somthing has become blocked??

the common overcooling problem on the zetec is due to the thermostat sticking open.

The sender under the top hose outlet (engine end) is for the gauge.
Are you sure that your sender is compatible with your guage.
I only say that because I upgraded from a Pinto and my guage does not match the sender so reads very low.
