Which Socket do I need?

Anyone know what size socket fits the sprocket nut on an R1 engine?
I need to buy one!

Can't help with the size but can you get in to measure it with a pair of verniers? May help?

I'll be going in the garage in a minute, but I won't be returning for several hours!!!!!
Will do with the vernier.

Looks like a 36mm across the flats, 6pt.
Went to halfrauds and it was the only one missing from their range....typical!
I only need to get the nut off as my reverse cog goes in it's place.
Even my adjustable wrench won't open that far.
I will take a look in my firms tools tonight.
I'm also after a narrow 17mm socket for the bolts on my chain diff. They are countersunk and a normal 17mm is just too thick walled.

36mm is pretty standard size on modern bikes hence halfords never have them as just about every set you buy stops at 32mm so you have to buy that one extra one.

a common problem for removing spark plugs from v8 heads. you need to go round shops measuring the socket diameter to find smallest one or as people have done, grind the wall down.

I managed to get a 36mm ring spanner for the sprocket nut.
I will take a look at plug spanners.

Cheers Guys
