Has anyone fitted a TPS to a Weber DGV?

I'm thinking about replacing my electronic dizzy with a Mejajolt and wondered if anyone has successfully managed to fit a TPS to their Weber DGV throttle thinkage?

I realise there is a MAP version which I could plumb into the carb but I like the idea of playing with TPS's.

Any experiences/photos/tips/parts suggestions would be very welcome.

is the throttle actuator on the DGV anything like the DGAS? I managed to fit one to a DGAS.

MAP is more effective & accurate than the TPS - but if you want to play, don't let me stop you!

MAP is a much better way of sensing load, the only real reason to go TPS is if you have something that messes up the MAP signal like lairy cams or individual throttle bodies / carbs. For a single DGV you'll be better off with MAP.

From my investigations I've read that MAP is more suitable for a 1-4 branch inlet manifold setup.

However, my winter upgrade project is very likely to be bike carbs or bike TBs (on my xflow) so I thought i'd start off with TPS as this is what i'd have to use when I change the inlet manifold to a 4 branch.

Make sense?

Yep, if you're going to move to individual carbs / TBs then TPS is probably the best choice. Can't help with fiting one to a DGV though I'm afraid

On my DGAS there is a bracket that holds the throttle cable. A bit of bar then links this to the carb. The end of the bar sticks out from the back end of the bracket. i made a new bracket over this end to take the TPS as supplied with the Kimmins MJLJ (it looks loike a std POT with a plastic shaft). I then secured the TPS in the new bracket and joined it to the end of the throttle link bar with a piece of tube. I couldnt find tight fitting tube in my box of bits so tightened it up with jubilee clamps - not pretty so might do something different on the bike carbs.

To gove you the idea take a look at my recent bike carb post and you will see the new bracket and a bolt in the end of the butterfly spindle (head will be cut off when i know how long i need the bolt to be).
