5JJ Engine - what's it worth??
Hi All
I'm about to put my R1 5JJ engine up for sale - it's standard but fitted with a sump baffle plate. The oil cooler bolt is drilled and
tapped ready for an oil pressure gauge (there's a standard bolt with it as well) and the sump is drilled and tapped for oil temperature sensor
(this can be easily blanked off).
It's complete but doesn't have carbs, loom, exhaust headers (no good for a 7) thermostat housing (I have it somewhere!) and clocks. It has
an ECU, coils and a load of spare bits - head, starter, pistons, gear cluster, clutch and basket, covers.
It's in good condition, low mileage and has healthy oil pressure etc.
You can here it running here
I'm thinking of sticking it on eBay but not really sure what it's worth. Any ideas?
I'm only selling because I'm hoping to upgrade to a later engine over the winter.
Regards
Wyn

I paid £1000 for my sub-1000 mile 5JJ. It had everything to run included although the loom was a complete dog's dinner.
I'd say that I paid top-whack but it did have an uprated clutch which saved me cash in the long run.
I wouldn't mind buying some of your spares if you fancy splitting the 'package.'
I'd think you'd get £600 at least on eBay?

Thanks Tim
I was guessing around £600. I've got an uprated clutch kit still in the box which I forgot all about!
I'd be happy to sell the extras as long as I still had the complete engine package to sell.

Sold - thanks Rich!
And I've bought a 55-plate 5VY engine instead. Thanks Paul.
There'll be loads of questions soon!

Thanks Paul - good to meet you too! Let me know how you're gettin on.
The engine's in! But none of the mounts line up (not really surprised). The sprocket and diff should line up though which is the important
bit!
