gear change

Hi people
Fixed my Avon today and took it out for a spin for about 5-10 minutes
When home to pick up some stuff then jumped back in to get off and i could not get the car for love of money to go in reverse with out grinding the gear?
One of the things that I sorted today was the Westfield gearbox remote changer thing? The bolts that were on before came loss so I put some lock washers on and a little longer bolts on all seemed fine till then?
Any ideas what else it could be??

Thanks for any information

Matt

Is it worth messing around with alignment? The 3 bolts have quite a lot of play, so you might find a position that works.

If it' grinding the gears then the clutch isn't clearing! No amount of messing with the gear linkage will cure it. If it is grinding when lifting the clutch pedal it's a different matter, possibly only partly going into gear?

1st to 5th work fine it's just reverse!
the clutch is all the way down and it till dose not want to go but when the engines off it go's in fine without any trouble?
but i think david has hit that one on the spot (the alignment is a little out)
will have to give that a go tomorrow
