Breather SMoking

Now running the Zetec 2.0 for the first time - waiting for it to reach a sensible temperature. But oil pressure has started to fall from 80 ish to 60 ish as it warms up, and there's white smoke coming from the breather and under the cam cover. Should this be happening?

Sound normal to me mate!

You will get some wisps of vapour particularly if the engine hasnt been run in a while, shouldnt be white smoke though?

And the oil pressure will fall as the engine oil temperature rises - check the haynes for acceptable pressure ranges - I think the CBR1000 is 100psi at 6000rpm.

That smoke you talk of is just oil vapor. Usualy starts when engine is up to running temp. With the normal injection this is fed back into the inlat manifold ane recycled. Thats why idealy you should have a oil catch tank to catch this vapor.

Ive recently took the top off my catch tank and have plenty of vapour being 'burnt' off. Lookes strange but im not worried. If oil level is staying constant then should be fine.

Ref pressure - mine drops about 10psi from cold to hot, so again sounds normal.

white vapour - try to put some papaer round the part where this is coming from (I put round dmall fileter) and then after a few minutes examine paper.

youy will be able to tell if it is just water vapour - normal or oil - again normal but not if coming out in large quantity.
