Propshaft rotation question
Having installed the engine, diff drive shafts and modified BEC propshaft, i have noticed that the rear section doesnt rotate true, it seems to
oscilate. this seems rather strange as by all accounts the rear section shouldnt have been modified as only the front section is modified with a
sliding joint.
The front section seems to rotate true. Its just the piece between the rubber middle joint and the diff flange. It all seems to go round equally
uneven at the diff and rubber joint, and i really dont know why.
Is it knackered, or is it acceptable. I brought this from one of the main BEC specialists, and wanted to make sure im not being daft, or havent done
anything wrong before i go back to them.
Any help much appreciated.

A single Hardy Spicer UJ is not constant velocity when working through an angle and the driven shaft will go through two cycles of speed-up/slow-down
during each full rotation of the prop. Not usually noticed as the second joint at the back end of the prop, if working at an opposite but equal angle
reverses the effect. Hence the diff drive flange does get constant velocity rotation out of the second joint. The non constant velocity rotation of
the prop is not usually obvious or noticed as the variation is small. If this is the effect you are seeing don't worry. If the output to the
diff is varying in speed are the UJ angles not equal or is something falling off?
I think I would get it checked to be on the safe side.

Doesnt sound right to me. Is the flange bolted on the diff square??
Sound slike somethings welded wrong or the uj isnt pressed into the yoke correctly/centrally. Send it back.
Just a thought, has it been balanced? If somethings wrong with it you would have thought when they spun it up to balance it they would have
noticed..

Put a straight edge up against the rear prop section this morning only to see that its slightly bent like a banana.
This is just my luck. Supplier has said they will replace it though.
Now i face the nightmar job of getting it out of my particularly tight tunnel. DAM.
