Hi
Its not arrived yet but I think its the engine from an xr3.
Does anyone know which clocks to use, just so I can start looking at prices?
will the sierra box be ok with this?
regards john

Have you tried MK Sportscars? They will be familiar with the car and what is required, so even if they can't do it in the timescale you require, they could at least give you a price to use as a benchmark for others.

thanks for the idea, Hellfire.

I will drop them an email.

Do you know if my sierra MT75 box will be ok to go with the 1600 xr3 engine?

regards john

you dont mention what type of engine - x flow /cvh etc

i think someone who is a ford afficiando will tell you about the box , fwiw , the box was fitted to pinto/dohc cars , so unsure if the cvh would work with it .

the problem with mt75 is the integral bellhousing .

If it's a 1.6 from an XR3 then it will be a CVH. The bellhousing bolt spacing is the same as the Pinto, Xflow, Zetec etc. so an MT75 box should fit ok.

I can't help thinking it's a little bit of a sideways move from a 2.0L Pintosaurus though. A bog standard el cheapo 2.0L Zetec would be giving simmilar power to a well tuned 1.6 CVH (normaly aspirated) with rather more potential for more.

Hi
it is a cvh
Like I said it is highly tuned by Vulcan ( apparently revs over 8K) with twin 40s jetted by Vulcan comes with an array of spares all in a shinny blue paint!

reason for the sideways move , Cost £300 plus two of my spare tyres! Think that was why I went for it!
