Yep that looks like it.
Decided to take for MOT today and it passed!
Also spoke to Mike at RATT and he remember the engine and the car. Said he thought it was built to around the 170bhp mark at 7200ish. So nowhere near
what what quoted by previous owner.
Took it long way round to MOT. Oil pressure running at what he said it should be. No problems with temprature, no tappet noises, no smoke. He said it
should drive fine on road as it has plenty of torque, and it did. Quite impressed really. Only took it up to 6k and its pretty damn quick.
However its a race engine.....not really for me I think

So it's a race engine that's fine on the road and has plenty of torque?
It feels quick upto 6K?
Try it to 7K and see what you think then
If it's setup to peak at 7.2K then ideally you'll probably be wanting to shift at 7.5-8K to make the most of what it's got

Will do tommorow if its not raining!
No idea how these are meant to be or be able to compare to standard or mildly tuned I'm afraid.....
Just know it drove 10 miles there and 10 miles back on some country road, some city. with no problems and wasn't difficult to drive in any way.
If anyone local to Nottingham, knows something about these and could pop round/or ill come to you - would welcome any advice.........

Not that I dont like it, infact pretty impressed with it for the short drive I've been on. just worried about blowing it, rebuild costs
etc....general feeling seems to be need rebuild every year/few years? Not sure how much this would be but guessing a lot. Just thinking might be
better going for zetec etc.....

If your concerned, Whip it out and get it on eBay. The money you'll get for it will more than cover a zetec with throttle bodies and a reliable
160 bhp. Replacement engine would only be 100 quid, jobs a good un. You may even be able to go duratec for the money it will fetch.

It seems that the engine's been in there for about 7yrs so far and is still going strong, so can't be that bad can it?
Unless you're planning on commuting or doing a world tour then it'll probably be fine for the yearly mileage that most kits do.
170bhp @ 7.2K sounds pretty impressive to me especially if it's tractable too. Yes a bike engine will be lighter but only good ones will beat
that power figure and will struggle to get anywhere near the torque.

Yes mate straight cut box. Don't know ratios, but told it has long first Also got a ap race clutch which also makes some, well, interesting
noises. All in all thats all i know about the box and clutch - the noise!
Oh, the car was bought for as a winter project for track day car really. Probably pop down the pub every other week in it, maybe take it for a blast
on occasional weekend, but that's it...don't think I'll ever use engine to potential//purpose intended

A new build Formula Ford will set you back £4.5 grand minimum and nothing special in it apart from the blueprinting. I have just sold one on for
£2700. The times quoted are good and it seems like you have a VERY good engine there. However, at the end of the day, as we all know, it's only
worth what some one will pay for it.....

Thanks for all the advice guys.
I've decided to keep the x flow for now. Looking into sprint / hill climb for next year (as apposed to just track days) - .
