What's with all the group B monsters and other awesome stuff? This is supposed to be cars you really want, but shouldn't!!
Anyway, here's mine. Learned to drive in a poverty spec 1.6 LS and longed for the ultimate version. Oh yes - the Vauxhall Cavalier GSi
2000...
Ok that's the later turbo 4x4, and of course the dream was revised when it came out, but the exotic and futuristic sounding GSi 2000 was the
original object of desire.
I used to sit in our's reading the owners manual, imagining our blanks filled with all the extra switches of the top-of-the-range model, the
plastic wood trim bits being there, sitting on leather, the gear stick going up to 6... aaahhhhhh such sweet longing.
Never got round to owning one, and never will now, because if the owners manual for the Cavalier showing all the top model features was a source of
boyhood desire, getting the brochure for the Omega Elite was like being introduced to porn! I am now living that greater dream!! Oh yes, I have made
it.

I tried to buy a 5 door Cavallier (Twice) I think on was a 1.6 and the other a 1.8, I went to see them both at garages that had them in there to clear
bit, Then the 205 came on the market whilst I was deliberating and I got that (One of my dream cars, 3 dr, white with a 1.6 and an Auto box that
didn't like changing direction).
I remeber when my Grandad bought his Rover 200, I think that was something of a dream car to him.
