top speed for a busa
very quick one running a 99 busa engine with a 3.62 lsd and 15 inch rims with 195 50 tyres what sort of top end should i expect its an indy with full
cage and aero screen if that makes any difference just thinking really as i cant work in the garage without risking frostbite

Ultimately you'll hit a brick wall of aerodynamics with a Seven type car- they've got the aerodynamics of an elephant.....

Hi all, with my busa and a 3.62 diff top speed with 195/50-15 was 115mph (true speed), now fitted 3.38 diff and get 110 in 5th gear with no noticable
loss of acceleration as the engine seems to use more of its torque, not tried flat out in 6th yet, dont think i prob ever will, 110-120 is plenty in
these type of cars.

thanks for the replies thats what i thought about the same as with the blade engine only ran out of revs at donnington so its not a big problem is it
poss to fit the lsd and bolt on shafts to a 3.38 and what models of sierra were they from so i can keep my eyes out diff will be worth more than the
car now i would of thought

Hit 120 on a wet sweeping right hand curve on the French motorway - head buffeting was enough to make me back off....mate's 911 was showing 130
though, he was well impressed! Didn't like to tell him his speedo is overreading.....
To be honest, it pulls through to 120 without any effect of aerodynamics to speak of - that said i have a flyscreen not a windscreen (or airbrake, as
it should be known as)

Yes it is poss, i stripped a spare 3.62 and used the lsd with 3.38 crown wheel rebuilt and of you go. the 3.38 was from a diesel sierra.
hope that helps

as said above, forget top speed, 110-120 is ENOUGH in a 7 type car!

If you are running the car on Nürburgring you will do over 120 miles and thats where topspeed is nessasary.
And there is a difference on 120 or 135.

For a roadcar 120 would probably be enough.

its mainly a track car and i found with the blade engine i was on the limiter at donnington and at cadwell as well so maybe a change to a different
diff will be best my view on this is that if yourn using the busa with a lot more torque than most bike engines this will make it more tracktable out
of corners without the need to ring its neck and change up mid corner just my view of course and i will be doing the ring this year after securing a
five day pass from swmbo so the extra top end would come in handy there

You need to gear a trackday car for around 130mph - especially with a Busa.
For a Busa the minumum is a 3.38 diff. Most racers use a 3.14 diff to get 135mph (yes a seven type car can do this speed down the straight at
Snetterton). A 3.14 is rare as hens teeth though.

yard lad and a gas axe and out pops a 3.38 diff can anyone guess what i paid for it though ?

I paid a tenner for the entire car, 2.3 DL estate!
If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!
