LinkedIn - who's benefitted from joining?
Several friends and colleagues have invited me to join the LinkedIn network recently.
I've previously shunned the likes of FaceBook, but LinkedIn looks a bit more professionally orientated and perhaps useful.
What say you wise fellows of LCB...?

i've not got anything from it yet - but i've not wanted too.
If you're likely to want to go out on your own its a way of keeping contact with people and finding contacts via friends.
What have you got to lose?

I wouldn't join it, it sounds like a sausage supplier .
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

If you are job hunting like me you will find that increasing numbers of employers use LinkedIn to check potential candidates profiles, recommendations
etc. Many of the job agencies also use LinkedIn for head hunting suitable candidates for roles they have available.

I've been using Linked-in for a long time and it has proved useful from a business networking point of view. We have been able to use it
research people as previously posted.
Lately though a lot of recruiters are spamming some of the user groups which is a pain.
I always make a point of asking someone if they wanted to be contacted via me to maintain privacy.

Can always tell when people are about to leave from the flurry of invitations/links they generate.
Just used it this morning to contact an old friend who I've lost the address of over the years.

I've been on it for a while, not generated any work from it but it has been useful to catch up with some people and the Q&A section can be
pretty good.
