flat/trickshifter question

hi there
i'm thinking about buying a flatshifter pro to fit it on my race car.
would you say it's a good idea or just a waste of money?
car is never used on road.
where is the cheapest place to buy? (missed the bulk buy a few month ago:mad
cheers

Everybody I know who has one thinks they are superb - the 1 metre a gear change gained is pretty accurate apparently.
