Zetec cam timing

Can anybody tell me what degrees the cams should be at (I think that's the correct question) to make them spot on when rebuilding a head.

it's a 2.0l silvertop.

thanks

dan

To set the cam timing you simple lock the cams with a 5mm plate and line up the bottom pulley with the timing mark and job done. On the black top there is a pin to lock the crank.

If you have had the pulleys of then leave them loose untill its all locked.

All the above advise is relevant if you haven't removed the pulleys, if you have then setting the piston a tdc with the cams locked is correct.

A piece of 5mm flat bar across the slots at the back gets you the correct degree then tdc if you've removed the pulleys, no idea why tho...

Pulleys are still on, my engine builder asked me to find out the degrees as he has a 360 disc that he puts on the flywheel.

Hi

The info below is from the formula ford and westfield race regulations. It is relevant to the 2ltr and 130ps 1800 cams. It may be of some help possibly.

Or search down the page HERE for a clearer picture. It is the Westfield regulations.

Thanks Matt

I've looked at the pdf and it mentions the 1.8 cam. Is this the same as what would be in my 2.0 engine?

Cheers

Dan
