What should I do here?

My bellhousing arrived for the duratec on friday.

My problem is that I have a hydraulic release bearing which fits the bellhousing, but it will not fit over the std clutch release bearing sleeve on the type 9.

I dont think the sleeve part is needed for the new application as the hydraulic cylinder has its own guide built in. What I am thinking is machine off the old guide to clear the new release bearing leaving just the front cover part of the casting to retain the main bearing and the front oil seal.

I'll go grab some pics.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
David

would it have been any cheaper to just use a mazda MX5 gearbox? it would certainly be a lot newer than using a type 9
