RADIATORS & WATER PUMP
Can anyone help with the following:
1) I currently have a sierra radiator fitted to my 1500 spitfire. It fits OK. However, the RV8 is longer than the 1500 (not surprisingly!) and I cant
move the rad any further forward due to the tapering down of the bonnet, and the tapering up of the chassis rails. Width is not a problem. Siarra rad
is about 28" wide x 16" high. Does anyone know of a wide but low rad? I need it to be about 14" high max. (I realise that most of
you need narrow & low, but it's worth asking the question). Or does anyone know of a data source with rad dimensions? Alternatively, has
anyone had a custom rad made for them? If so, how much will this eat into my LOCOST budget?
2) On the same subject, I have an RV8 water pump (probably SD1 but not sure) which is also too long for my installation. I understand that the MGBV8
pump is a lot shorter, but can anyone tell me exactly how long it is from its tip to where it joins to the timing cover?
Thanks for any help

consider using two small radiators side by side. i cant think of any cars that have very wide and low radiators but there must be many 12 inch small
ones.

A lot of modern production cars use quite wide and low rads. As for a source of dimensions, hunt about on buypartsby.co.uk.
http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/radiators_make.php
Choose a wide and low car, and click on the part no.
Hope this helps.
