im not using a bike engine but many are, so if you get stuck then there are many experts to help! most things are easily solved. gears just need a linkage making, drivetrain requires the sprocket replacing usually, clutch to the foot pedal is easy etc etc...

just do it, its easier than building a CEC, its such a well trodden path these days parts u dont fancy fabricating are readily available,

Where else can u get 12000rpm, 6 speed box ect.... for the price i saw a pinto advertised at on here earlier this week??

It's our first...

attempt at any sort of Kit Car and we managed it easily enough... have a look at our website for any/all information.

Our's is almost ready for the road - took us 6 months! We don't think it's bad considering the amount of work we have put in...

I intially was going to build a 2 litre pinto MK Indy, but a mate in a Fireblade engined locost took me for a drive and, honestly, deciding to go with a blade is the best move I have made - it's a bulletproof flying machine.
The engine was about 1000, and is outstanding - I definitely made the right decision on the powerplant.
Any Pinto is going to have done big (70k plus) miles, and will probably need a rebuild (few hundred quids worth of effort) maybe new camshaft, nice air filter maybe, Weber carbs for a bit more power. You could easily spend the guts of a grand on it before you know it - and it still wont be in the same postcode of performance as a blade.
I'd strongly recommend you get a lift in a BEC - you'll soon know what to do then!
I'm sure someone lives nearby and would take you for a run if you ask nicely.
