Clutch Cable for Pinto to MK Pedals

Hi People. Is there anyone out there who have got MK pedals matched to a 2.0 pinto engine.

I've looked at the cable and it is clearly too long (inner bit)

How have you solved the problem? Please help.

Without knowing exactly what your setup is I have seen postings referring to using a Mk 2 Escort clutch cable, possibly the way I`ll go. Cheers, Steve.

Vince I know whjere your coming from with this one,i had the same problem.

I slipped a larger bore tube over the clutch cable exit tube thats welded to the chassis, this takes up the extra length in the cable i'm using(almost 2"

Although i thought it clever to use a cortina MK3/4/5 clutch cable as its manual adjustment might help, the cable seems tight and is proving hard to drive the car as pedal is stiff.

I'm going to try a new sierra cable this after noon

Vince

I dont think there is much in it regarding length but it seems the capri MK2/3 one is favourite,i have now got the Cortina one working much better today thanks to a bit of lube and a re-fit.

The sierra cable is the same length but not adjustable,it also has to be modified at pedal to fit.

Its one of those parts that you know will work when you see it,just a matter of having a friendly factor that doesnt mind you having a sift through his cables.
