Blade engine tapping
Hi all, new to the site i've got a blade powered locost and after buying it i have finally got her running. it had been stood for a number of
years.
theres a tapping coming from the rocker cover.
are the 919 blade engine hydraulic lifters? can the shims be changed?
if not, can anyone shed any light on this.
the engine now runs well and idles ok, if a little lumpy when cold. if goes up and down the revs fine and doesnt produce any smoke or other odd
noises.
many thanks in advance.

Your best bet would be to give Andy a call at AB Performance 01449736633. He knows these engines inside out

did you do the usual pre-engine start checks that you would on an engine that has been stood??
Oil
Coolant
Rocker cover off (Check for moisture, valve clearances etc)
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

cheers for the replies, i'll drop andy a line.
I changed the oil, rocker cover came off and i had a general poke around and saw nothing amiss (although the previous owner had started the engine the
day before i took delivery anyway)
Coolant was dropped and changed as well.
