Zetec gas flow porting head

Has anybody had a go at DIY gas flowing/porting a 2.0 Silver-top cylinder head?

If so, could you please tell me how successful you were, and how much you opened up the ports?

Photo`s would be great???

Also, what is a safe amount to skim the head?

Failing that, can anybody recommend a tuner that isn`t gonna charge silly money???

Thanks in advance
Dave

I did mine with a Dremel. I just took out all the casting marks and smoothed the ports out. I then matched the manifolds to the ports which were quite a bit out. Not sure if I made any great improvement with standard cams but just taking time to reground the valves and replace guide seals gave peace of mind. Rescued attachment DSCF0119.JPG

coincidence, as im currently planning exactly the same and been doing a bit of research on the net, got a few links with pictures and info on compression ratios etc, which will post up when home tonight.
ive stripped the head and cleaned the valves and picked up all the porting tools, its the job for this weekend.

Info sent to those that wanted it. Make sure you take plenty of pics to post up. If anyone hears of a redundant 2.0 silvertop zetec head please let me know and I shall join you!

Some stuff here as well.

Specific reference to the bit that worries me i.e. that port matching on an NA engine is not always good!
